I ate Fermented Stingray That Tasted Like Pure Ammonia and Also Dog Meat

This week was beautiful! And so was the week before! Spring is here!

The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and that means there are lots of families on the streets to talk to.

Brother 김원종 (Kim Wonjong) was baptized on Saturday. It was fantastic! The youth in our ward performed a musical number, and afterward they played karaoke.

We had interviews with the mission president this week. We see him often in the office though, so it felt regular. I love our mission president!

We visited 독립기념관 (Dogliginyeomgwan - Independence Hall) today. Everyone in the mission came together to tour the museums and play games. And, I was the photographer, so I got a ton of good pictures.

Meetings are going crazy. Zone conference, interviews, office missionary-specific meetings, you name it!

We are on a hunt to eat all of the strange Korean food. It's hard to find, so don't worry that Koreans regularly eat this stuff, but last week we ate dog meat soup (보신탕) and fermented skate! The dog meat soup was tasty, but too expensive and not as good as mud fish soup from Namwon. Now the skate... wow... if you don't have to breathe, it tastes like slightly salty raw fish, with a little bit of cartilage crunch. But if, by chance, you have to breathe, it burns your nasal cavity from the inside out. In the end, much better than I expected! I'd do it again! Next week we hope to eat live octopus...

Conference is also incredible. I have only seen the Saturday sessions, but it could have been written directly to Elder Wardle and I wouldn't have known the difference. Prophets are so cool, and it's even cooler that we live at a time when we can hear their guidance so frequently and so conveniently. I hope you all can set apart time to watch this precious guidance from the Lord's chosen servants!
