A Short Stay in Chungju
But then transfer calls came and Elder Wardle staying in Chungju was not to be! Turns out I will be moving to Namwon this next transfer, with the lovely Elder Idiart! I'm surprised, but also excited. That area has been filled with my previous companions for a long time, and I look forward to serving in one of the smallest cities in our mission.
This week while teaching a lesson about faith, our friend asked a very insightful question. We had been talking about the Savior's teachings found in Matthew 17: 20, which teaches that even a small amount of faith can give us the power to move mountains. Our friend thought about the scripture for a moment, and then asked where we move the mountains to. My heart left for joy as the spirit answered his question and I testified to him that we move, or rather give our mountains to Christ! He can take our burdens and our spiritual mountains and make the weight light, giving us the power to succeed and overcome. And all it takes is the smallest measure of faith for that to become a reality in our lives. I have my own worries and doubts about the future, and I know I am going to have to do some hard things as I strive to follow Jesus Christ, but the knowledge that He is right next to me, ready to take my mountains, gives me all the comfort and power I need to look forward with faith and hope for a brighter future
I still have some packing to do, but I'll try to update you on the wonders of Namwon when I have a chance. I hope you all have a fantastic week!
Elder Wardle
