March 14, 2022 - Daejeon
This week was busy, and it all started with Zone Conference! Zone conference is always an incredible opportunity, and the more I attend the more I love them. Beyond gaining much needed insight on how we as a mission and what I personally can improve, I had a particularly special spiritual experience. At one point during g the conference, we all stopped and had a personal prayer in which we asked two questions:
Is the Book of Mormon true?
Is the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints is the Lords kingdom on the earth?
Is the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints is the Lords kingdom on the earth?
It was initially uncomfortable; I had never offered a personal prayer in a group format like this before, and I had already received a testimony of these two things. But the moment I asked these two questions, my mind snapped into focus and everything else faded away. I heard a voice in my head clearly distinct from my own boldly proclaim "Of course. After everything you have seen, how could it not be?" I was able to spend the rest of the time pondering what the so called "things I have seen" are. This Book, and more generally the structure of this Church, has been the biggest source of blessings in my life, and I have seen how the testimony of these two questions have (or have not) shaped the lives and happiness of friends, family, and most relevantly myself.
The rest of the week was full of appointments with teaching friends. One of the most exciting was the opportunity we had to go to the Seoul temple with a teaching friend! He arrived much later than us, and I had the opportunity to walk the grounds of this tiny yet beautiful House of the Lord. It was truly wonderful. Unfortunately our teaching friend was more lukewarm about the experience than we had hoped, but I have full confidence that what he did feel will help bring him closer to making lasting covenants with the Lord.
I also got to go on exchanges with Elder LeBaron! My first ever exchange was actually this Elder all the way back in Suwon, and it was fun doing it again 6 months later, seeing how we had both grown and learned! He had some excellent advice to share with me, and some words of encouragement as well! All around a great time; I love spending time with these amazing missionaries on exchanges.
I think that is all the highlights! I hope you all have a phenomenal coming week!
