Conference for Real This Time
Hello everybody! I hope you have had a fabulous week! Conference was amazing! I actually haven't had a chance to watch the Saturday Evening Session, so that's on the docket for tonight, but of the talks I have listened to, I am absolutely amazed! It is absolutely incredible that we have living prophets with power from God to share revelation intended for us in our unique situations. I wish I could give a play-by-play rundown of my thoughts on every talk so far, but it would take too long! I want to continue to study and restudy these talks for the next 6 months. Who knows, I might pull them out in Korean and use it as language practice!
Things have been busy as usual over here in Korea. We have several great teaching friends, but there is one teaching friend I am particularly excited about! We met him for the second time this week, and the spirit was so strong! He is really proactive and self motivated to learn about the church, so sometimes we can get lost in his questions when teaching him, but when we asked him if he would be baptized if he could gain a testimony about the church, he said yes and almost started crying! We still have a lot to teach him, and we don't have a date for his baptism, but I have faith that with the spirit on our side we can help build him up in the gospel.
Today we had an opportunity to play 족구 (jokku) with our area! 족구 is basically volleyball, but you play it with your feet like soccer. I wasn't very good at it, but it was really darn fun!
The culture is still as strange and as awesome as always! On Saturday, we went straight from participating in a baby blessing, to eating pig spine soup, to watching the Saturday Morning session of General Conference! It's busy and chaotic and fast paced over here, and I love it. And don't worry, the pig spine soup was much more normal than you are probably thinking. I mean, by the time you de-bone it, it has almost stopped boiling! (It was actually really good)
Also, in regards to that baby blessing (which was awesome, by the way) the baby actually has to go to the hospital tomorrow. I don't know the details, but if you could keep him in your prayers, his family would really appreciate it. His name is 막 지우 (mak jiu).
Anyways, I gotta go read Wilcox's talk now! Everyone has been saying it's their favorite. I hope you all have a fantastic week!
화이팅!
